Where I am

My ancestors did the heavy lifting so that I could lift and go further.

New days, tasks, goals, call for new strategies and markers. I am so glad and grateful for growth. Being an artist of any kind is such a wonderful journey… there are some real highs and lows but either way it all balances out… I’m learning to flow like water. Regardless of how water meets obstacles, it always finds a way. I’m hearing “Cranes in the Sky” by the very talented Solange Knowles in my head. A very soothing tune as I wind down from a long day. Away… A WAY keeps playing. Even when we see those dark clouds…

Being a Leo, being a woman from the heart. of Chicago’s south side, I innerstand that most of us are running off of generations of survival… No matter how much peace we see or new levels there will always be something to learn, there will always be something to strive for, to attain. As I type, that sound a lot like greed. Or, for my holistics, an unbalanced root chakra. It’s in the music, the media, it’s everywhere… the influence of staying dysregulated. In knowing this, the rebellion is… regulating the nervous system. By any means.

This could look like adjusting your feed and what you take in on a daily basis, getting and staying away from toxic thinking and thinkers. Keep in mind, a lot of the work is rooted in our very own belief systems. And that is where real healing can begin.

Ahhh… this article started off about where I am… and this season is about taking my foot off of the throttle and allowing… allowing more feminine ease into my experience. I’m writing this in the corner of my very own blog space… Not sure who actually reads or will read it… But it feels good, hard to be completely silent I guess. I’ve got a few projects I’m working on but for now, this season is another cocoon season, pruning of sorts…

Life is layered… and when we take the time to, or allow ourselves the time to live it, and experience it… layer by layer. it makes for a wonderful cake. A wonderful treat. I’m so thankful and grateful for every single mentor, lesson, blessing, love, offering, talk, interaction and space that has aided in making me better.

The character in the movie “Forrest Gump” famously said “Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re gonna get” well…. Forrest I don’t much like chocolate enough to buy a box of them… So i kinda do know what i’ll get because I’m in the right places able to collect the right things that fit perfectly for me. How can. you know what’s for you truly if you don’t know yourself? If you know and love yourself… you’ll position yourself as such… Everything is data. Choose Wisely.

Peace
